1. Does the HYTOPTODEVICE SFP-10G-T support 2.5G and 5G auto-negotiation? Yes. Our multi-rate 10G copper SFP+ for Arista is a full NBase-T solution. It automatically senses and negotiates the highest possible speed (1G, 2.5G, 5G, or 10G) supported by both the Arista switch and the connected endpoint.
2. Will Arista EOS recognize the module as "Generic" or "Native"? Our modules are programmed with Arista-specific EEPROM signatures. Arista EOS identifies the module as a native SFP-10G-T, providing full access to DOM/DDM diagnostics and health monitoring without needing "unsupported-transceiver" CLI commands.
3. What is the power consumption in high-density 48-port Arista switches? The SFP-10G-T power consumption is optimized at ≤2.5W. To handle the thermal demands of high-density Arista environments, HYTOPTODEVICE uses a high-thermal-conductivity zinc alloy housing to ensure the module stays within its operating temperature range.
4. Can I achieve 30 meters at 10G speeds with Cat6 cable? For a mission-critical 30m 10Gb SFP+ copper link, Cat6a or Cat7 shielded cable is required. While 10G over copper Cat6 cable distance can reach up to 15m, it is susceptible to crosstalk which may cause packet loss in high-performance Arista fabrics.
