Q1: Will the HYTOPTODEVICE GP-SFP-1LX work in a 10G SFP+ slot? A: Yes. Most Force10 and Dell SFP+ ports are backward compatible with 1G SFP modules. You may need to manually configure the port speed to 1000Mbps using the speed 1000 command in FTOS.
Q2: Does this module support real-time monitoring (DOM/DDM)? A: Absolutely. Every HYTOPTODEVICE GP-SFP-1LX includes Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM). This allows you to monitor optical power, temperature, and voltage directly through your switch’s management interface.
Q3: Is the 0°C to 70°C temperature range sufficient for my data center? A: Yes, the Commercial Temperature (0-70°C) range is the industry standard for climate-controlled data centers and indoor wiring closets, ensuring long-term hardware health.
Q4: Can I use this SFP with Multimode Fiber (MMF)? A: This is a 1310nm Single-mode SFP. While it can technically work over very short distances of MMF with a Mode Conditioning Patch (MCP) cable, it is strictly recommended for Single-mode Fiber (SMF) to achieve the 10km rating.
Q5: Is HYTOPTODEVICE compatible with the latest Dell FTOS/OS10 versions? A: Yes. Our transceivers are flashed with the latest EEPROM signatures to ensure they are recognized as "Genuine" or "Compatible" by FTOS and Dell OS10, avoiding "unsupported transceiver" lockouts.
