Q1: Does the "LH70" mean it only reaches 70km? A: While the official model name is LH70, the high-quality 1550nm laser used in the HYTOPTODEVICE version often allows it to reach up to 80km on standard G.652 single-mode fiber, provided the fiber loss (dB) is within the budget.
Q2: Is this module hot-swappable in OmniSwitch hardware? A: Yes. Our SFP-GIG-LH70 compatible module is fully hot-pluggable. You can insert or remove it without powering down the switch or disrupting other services on the device.
Q3: Will the Alcatel-Lucent OS recognize this module without errors? A: Absolutely. Each module is flashed with the correct Alcatel-Lucent EEPROM signatures. It will be recognized as a genuine SFP-GIG-LH70, and all diagnostic features will be available in the AOS CLI.
Q4: Do I need an optical attenuator for testing? A: YES. Because this is a high-power long-haul transceiver, if your test link or actual link is shorter than 20km, you MUST use a 10dB-15dB LC optical attenuator to protect the receiver from optical overload.
