Q1:Is the Brocade E1MG-TX a multi-rate adaptive module? > A: No. The E1MG-TX is a pure 1000BASE-T transceiver , operating strictly at a fixed 1000 Mbps speed. It does not support downward auto-negotiation to 10Mbps or 100Mbps legacy Ethernet speeds.
Q2:Can I use the E1MG-TX transceiver to connect a 100Mbps Fast Ethernet device?
A2: No. The E1MG-TX copper transceiver is 1000BASE-T, support only fixed 1000 Mbps speeds. it can not connect with 100Mbps device.
Q3: What type of network cable should be used with the E1MG-TX ?
A3: The copper sfp module supports 5e (Cat5e) or Category 6/Cat6a copper patch cables. the module will transmit data up to 100m with them.
Q4: Does the Brocade 1G copper SFP support Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM)?
A4: No. It does not support. it is a copper SFP modules. that uses electrical voltage to transfer signals rather than fiber lasers, meaning optical diagnostic telemetry does not apply.
Q5: Is this transceiver hot-swappable?
A5: Yes. it is pluggable transceiver. the module features a hot-pluggable architecture. You can insert or extract it from active SFP slots without restarting the switch or interrupting neighboring active data lines.
