Q1: Does the F5-UPG-SFPC-R support 10G speeds? A: No. This F5-UPG-SFPC-R is a 1000BASE-T copper transceiver,not 10GBASE-T.
Q2: Will the F5 appliance recognize this module automatically? A: Yes. HYTOPTODEVICE SFP RJ45 modules are pre-programmed with F5-specific EEPROM data. Upon insertion, the F5 TMOS system will identify it as native hardware, and no special commands are required to enable the port.
Q3: Does this module support rate auto-negotiation? A: Absolutely. It supports 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation, allowing it to automatically match the speed and duplex settings of the connected peer device.
Q4: Can the transmission distance of RJ45 module exceed 100 meters? A: It is not recommended.The reliable limit for 1000BASE-T over Cat 5e/6 is 100 meters by IEEE 802.3ab standards. Exceeding the 100 meters may result in packet loss or link instability.
Q5: Does this module generate significant heat? A: Copper SFP modules have a higher power consumption (approx. 1W) compared to optical modules. It will feel warm to the touch during operation; this is normal. Our metal housing is designed for efficient heat dissipation.
