Usage Guidelines & Best Practices
Fiber & Connector: Use OS2 single-mode fiber with LC-UPC connectors only (LC-APC strictly prohibited). Match transceiver wavelength with your DWDM ITU channel.
Optical Attenuation (Crucial): Never direct-connect! Since Tx reaches up to +5 dBm, install a 10–15 dB inline attenuator at the Rx port during lab/short-link testing to keep input power below -3 dBm and prevent receiver burnout.
Architecture: Built with a Cooled DFB (TEC) transmitter and a PIN receiver (sensitivity ~ -24 dBm, 24 dB link budget).
Thermal Management: Operating temp: 0°C to 70°C. Proper airflow is essential for TEC wavelength locking to prevent link drops.
Handling: Supports hot-swapping via bail latch. Always clean LC fiber end-faces before connection.
